Rocket science is inherently interdisciplinary, bridging multiple fields of study to achieve successful space exploration and propulsion. It draws from physics, particularly mechanics and thermodynamics, to understand the fundamental principles of motion and energy conversion. Engineering disciplines like aerospace, mechanical, and materials engineering are vital for designing and constructing robust and efficient rocket systems.
Mathematics plays a pivotal role in calculating trajectories, propulsion efficiency, and structural integrity. Chemistry and materials science are crucial for developing advanced propellants and heat-resistant materials for rocket components. Computer science and software engineering are essential for simulating, modeling, and controlling complex flight dynamics.
The Indian Institute of Science (IISc) has made significant contributions to the space sector in India. Through cutting-edge research and innovation, IISc has played a pivotal role in advancing space technology and exploration. The tests were conducted using KNO3 and Sugar in a weight proportion of 65% and 35%, respectively. A force of 1 N was measured using the thrust stand at an equilibrium pressure of 5 Bar, without employing a CD Nozzle.
